On April 11 singer Celine Dion, in Shanghai to give one of her popular concerts, received a meter-high embroidered portrait of another famous woman - a consort in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 907) known as the "Drunken Beauty" - presented by the Shanghai Cultural Foundation.
The artwork was created and supplied by Shanghai Chinese Quintessence Art Co Ltd, which made a similar work that was given to actress Sharon Stone at last year's Shanghai International Movie Festival - the exquisite embroidery again bridging the world of art and global stars.
Shanghai Chinese Quintessence Art Co Ltd was also selected by the 2007 World Summer Special Olympics to create gifts given to Tim Shriver, chairman of International Special Olympic Games, and American director Don Mischer.
Approved by the Organizing Committee of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, products from the company are expected to be selected to present as gifts to delegations of each country,according to the company.
