Deputy Director Deng Xiaohong of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health said on March 27 that in 2007, the number of births in Beijing's hospitals reached 161,000 - a growth of 25% over the year 2006.
The number of births of non-Beijing registration household population is 5,800 higher than of permanent registered population .
