Wearing a pink small cheongsam, and donning two ponytails and MSN's small butterfly symbol, Microsoft's MSN in China recently ushered in the customer service robot, "Xiao Mei"– their first virtual employee in the world, according to Beijing Evening.
Xiao Mei "grew up" in China, and developed through independent research by a MSN China team. She will work on Microsoft's MSN customer service team as an important member. She will provide immediate online customer assistance to a large number of users in China, answering all users' questions on the use of MSN.
Xiao Mei's development in China represents the first instance of a MSN robot providing users with online self-service in all countries and regions in the world. In the near future, more of Xiao Mei robot's brothers and sisters will join the ranks of customer service. Xiao Mei has a higher degree of "intelligence," and has accumulated a number of solutions to common MSN-related problems; and users can interact in laymen's terms. After a keyword analysis of their conversation, users can locate relevant solutions and suggestions in the database.
